An Oxford college has been accused of shutting down free speech after it asked attendees to an Equality Conversation event to sign up to a code of conduct. The rules included refraining from using language or putting forward views intended to undermine the validity of trans and gender diverse identities. The college has now retracted this. So should universities be closing down free speech or should they be a safe space for different opinions?
